Within the Palais de Chaillot facing the Eiffel Tower, this museum of architecture and heritage displays full-scale plaster casts of portals, sculptures and mural paintings from France's great cathedrals and monuments, gathered so that regional masterpieces can be studied in one place. Further galleries trace French building from the medieval era to modern times, including a reconstructed apartment by Le Corbusier. The casts let visitors compare works separated by hundreds of kilometres side by side.
