Also known as the Sainte-Marie temple, this domed Protestant church in the Marais began as a convent chapel designed in the 17th century by the architect François Mansart. Its innovative circular plan and coffered dome made it an influential early work of French classical architecture. Following the Revolution the building was assigned to the Reformed Protestant congregation, which still worships there today. The restrained, harmonious interior and rotunda form contrast with the flamboyant Gothic and Baroque churches elsewhere in the district.
