On the rue de Grenelle in the Left Bank, this private museum was founded by Dina Vierny, longtime model and muse of the sculptor Aristide Maillol. It gathers his sensuous bronze and terracotta figures alongside works by other modern artists she championed, and hosts ambitious temporary exhibitions. The elegant townhouse setting, complete with a Bouchardon fountain at its entrance, adds to the appeal. The museum has become known for high-profile retrospectives that draw crowds to its intimate, well-lit galleries.
