Gochang, Hwasun and Ganghwa Dolmen Sites

Nowhere else are dolmens so densely gathered. The prehistoric cemeteries of Gochang, Hwasun and Ganghwa hold many hundreds of these megalithic tombs — great capstones balanced on stone slabs, raised in the 1st millennium BC. Part of a burial culture found across the world but concentrated in Korea as nowhere else, the three sites were inscribed together by UNESCO in 2000.
