Six hundred years of devotion climb Mount Espinho. The Bom Jesus do Monte sanctuary above Braga recreates sacred Jerusalem in the Sacri Monti tradition, its Baroque Via Crucis rising past chapels of the Passion, fountains and formal gardens to a church completed between 1784 and 1811. The Stairway of the Five Senses is its zigzag showpiece — climb it, or ride the 19th-century water-powered funicular. UNESCO inscribed the ensemble in 2019.
