West Norwegian Fjords – Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord

Rock walls climb 1,400 m straight out of the sea at Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord — and plunge another 500 m below it. Set 120 km apart in Norway's west, the two are counted among the world's longest, deepest and most beautiful fjords, their cliffs streaked with waterfalls, their heights carrying forests, glacial lakes and rugged summits. UNESCO inscribed the pair as the West Norwegian Fjords in 2005; ferries thread both in summer.
