One small house in Utrecht rewired modern architecture. Designed by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld for Truus Schröder-Schräder and finished in 1924, the Rietveld Schröder House turned the ideas of the De Stijl movement into three dimensions: sliding partitions, primary colours and a floor plan that changes with its inhabitants. UNESCO listed this icon of the Modern Movement in 2000; visits run through Utrecht's Centraal Museum.
