A ruined 13th-century monastery hidden deep in the oak and hornbeam forests near Acharkut, once a fortified complex whose defensive walls and towers still partly survive. Reaching it involves a rough forest track or a walk along the Joghaz valley, which keeps visitor numbers low. Moss-covered vaults and collapsed chapels give the site a strong lost-in-the-woods atmosphere.
