A 12th-13th century monastic complex perched on a forested slope above the village of Varagavan, founded by the Kyurikian princes as a successor to the famed Varagavank in historic Vaspurakan. Its red and ochre stonework, carved portals and khachkars stand out vividly against the dense Tavush greenery. The site remains quiet even in high season, with sweeping views over the surrounding valleys.
