A Chinese temple in Bayan Lepas dedicated to the healer-monk Chor Soo Kong, unusual for the live pit vipers that drape themselves over altars and incense-wreathed branches inside. Founded in the mid-19th century, it drew snakes from the surrounding jungle that devotees came to regard as guardians of the shrine. A small adjoining enclosure lets visitors see the resident snakes at closer range.
