This Victorian steam railway has run between Douglas and Port Erin since the 1870s, making it one of the oldest narrow-gauge lines still operating with its original locomotives and carriages. The 15-mile journey rolls through farmland, glens and coastal scenery in the south of the island. Stations along the route, including Castletown and Port St Mary, make it a practical as well as nostalgic way to explore.
