Reached by a 48-kilometer causeway from the town of Caibarién, this key offers long stretches of powdery sand fringed by turquoise shallows. The resort strip is compact, leaving much of the island's scrub and mangrove habitat intact. Day trips run to nearby uninhabited keys for snorkeling and beach picnics.
