A small key west of Cayo Coco known for Playa Pilar, a beach backed by some of the tallest sand dunes in the Caribbean. The surrounding flats attract kitesurfers and fly-fishing enthusiasts, and Ernest Hemingway set parts of Islands in the Stream in these waters. Resorts here are quieter and smaller than on the neighboring key.
