A remote archipelago northeast of Nosy Be known for basalt column formations, empty white-sand beaches and clear diving waters. The islands see far fewer visitors than Nosy Be and are usually explored on multi-day sailing or dive trips. Local Sakalava communities still live largely from fishing.
