The highest of the Virunga volcanoes at 4,507 meters, climbed over two days with a camp on its misty saddle. The route passes the meadow where Dian Fossey's Karisoke research station once stood. Summit mornings can bring frost and views across the whole volcanic chain into Uganda and the DRC.
