A dormant Virunga volcano on the Rwanda-DRC border crowned by a perfectly round crater lake at 3,711 meters. The one-day ascent through hagenia forest and giant lobelia is the most popular hike in Volcanoes National Park. Golden monkeys and occasional gorilla trails add wildlife interest to the climb.
