A caustic soda lake beneath Ol Doinyo Lengai whose red-tinged waters are the breeding ground for most of the world's lesser flamingos. The surrounding badlands hold waterfalls in narrow gorges, hominid footprints at Engare Sero, and stark scenery unlike anywhere else in Tanzania.
