Hidden in a sandstone canyon of the Ennedi Plateau, this permanent desert waterhole sustains one of the last populations of Saharan Nile crocodiles. Camel caravans descend the gorge daily to drink, staining the water dark and creating one of the Sahara's most striking scenes.
