A town on the Medjerda river rebuilt in the 17th century by Muslim and Jewish refugees from Andalusia, whose legacy survives in tiled minarets and Spanish-style rooftops. Its Great Mosque features a famous clock face with reversed numerals, and an annual malouf music festival keeps the Andalusian tradition alive.
