Paul da Serra

Madeira's largest plateau spreads across the island's spine at around 1,400 metres, a windswept moorland of grass, grazing cattle and wind turbines. On clear days the treeless expanse feels otherworldly, and it feeds the springs that supply the island's famous levada channels.
