One of the most biodiverse protected areas on Earth, Madidi spans a vertical range from Andean peaks above 6,000 meters to lowland Amazonian forest below 200 meters within a single park. The town of Rurrenabaque on the Beni River serves as the gateway, with pampas and jungle tours departing by motorized canoe. Recorded fauna includes over 1,000 bird species, 11 primate species, and several large cats including jaguar and puma.
