Waterton Lakes National Park occupies the southwest corner of Alberta where the Rocky Mountains rise abruptly from the prairies, creating one of the most dramatic transitions in North American mountain geography. The park forms an international peace park with Glacier National Park in Montana and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve. Upper Waterton Lake extends across the international boundary and is serviced by a historic boat tour from the townsite to Goat Haunt, Montana.
