Straddling the Cascade Mountains in the south of British Columbia near the Washington State border, Manning Provincial Park transitions from the damp Pacific coast forest of the western slope to a drier interior landscape on its eastern side. Heather meadows on the subalpine plateau of Blackwall Peak burst into colour in late July and August, drawing wildflower photographers from across the region. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses into Canada through the park's eastern boundary.
