This national park protects a narrow barrier coastline of red sandstone cliffs, white sand beaches, and coastal dunes along the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The park's Greenwich peninsula contains a rare parabolic dune system still in active migration. The shallow, warmth-retaining waters of the Gulf make these among the warmest swimming beaches in Canada east of British Columbia.
