Johnston Canyon in Banff National Park features a series of catwalks bolted to the cliff face above Johnston Creek, leading visitors through a narrow limestone slot canyon to two main waterfalls. The Lower Falls, reachable in roughly 1.5 kilometres from the trailhead, emerge from a dark cavity in the canyon wall. Winter transforms the canyon into an ice-climbing destination when the falls freeze solid.
