White chalk walls plunge to the Baltic at Møns Klint, where Pleistocene glaciers shoved and folded the seabed into cliffs streaked with contorted bands of chalk and younger sediment. Behind the cliff edge lies a hummocky glacial landscape of hills, kettle holes and orchid-rich chalk grassland — 18 orchid species grow here — with beech woods and rare butterflies such as the Large Blue. Denmark's dramatic glaciotectonic showcase joined the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2025.
