Denali National Park and Preserve

Denali National Park and Preserve encompasses over 24,000 square kilometers of subarctic and alpine wilderness centered on Denali, the highest peak in North America at 6,190 meters. A single unpaved road extends 148 kilometers into the park and is accessible by park bus for most of its length, traversing tundra, river braids, and spruce forest inhabited by grizzly bears, wolves, and caribou. Clear-weather views of Denali's south face from Wonder Lake are among the most celebrated mountain photography subjects in the United States.
