The Kalalau Trail traverses 18 kilometers of the Nā Pali Coast from Keʻe Beach in Hāʻena State Park to the remote Kalalau Valley, crossing five major valleys and several thousand feet of elevation change. The trail offers uninterrupted views of sea cliffs and cascading streams but requires a permit beyond the first 3 kilometers at Hanakāpīʻai Beach. The red earth trail etched into the cliffsides is a classic subject for aerial photography and among the most demanding day or multi-day hikes in the Pacific.

Where next?

The world is wide open.
