Franconia Notch is a narrow mountain pass in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, flanked by the Franconia and Kinsman ranges. The park's primary attractions include Profile Lake, where the reflection of the now-collapsed Old Man of the Mountain rock formation was once one of New England's signature images, and Flume Gorge, a natural canyon with walls up to 90 feet high along a narrow glacially scoured streambed. The aerial tramway up Cannon Mountain provides access to ridge-top views without a summit hike.
