A 65-foot freestanding natural arch of salmon-pink Entrada sandstone, the signature landmark of Arches National Park and a symbol of Utah. It stands at the edge of a bowl-shaped sandstone plain with the La Sal Mountains visible in the background. The 3-mile round-trip hike from Wolfe Ranch gains about 480 feet over open slickrock. Afternoon light warms the arch to deep orange and red tones, making the final approach hours before sunset the classic photographic window.
