Jewish Quarter and St Procopius' Basilica in Třebíč

For seven centuries Jews and Christians lived side by side in Třebíč, and the town preserves evidence of both communities with rare completeness. The Jewish Quarter's tight lanes, synagogues and hillside cemetery testify to a community that endured here from medieval times into the 20th century, while the Basilica of St Procopius, raised for a Benedictine monastery in the early 13th century, brought Western European architecture deep into Moravia. UNESCO inscribed the ensemble in 2003 as a World Heritage Site.
