A well-maintained valley walk within Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, the Hooker Valley Track follows the Hooker River through a glacial valley directly toward the south face of Aoraki, New Zealand's highest peak. Three swing bridges cross the river as the track ascends to a glacial terminal lake where icebergs calve into milky water. The unobstructed view of Aoraki's summit from the lake shore at ten kilometres is considered one of the finest mountain views in New Zealand.
