A sea arch of white rhyolite limestone on the eastern Coromandel Peninsula, Cathedral Cove connects two sandy coves through a high tunnel eroded by wave action. The arch is accessible via a 35-minute coastal walking track from the Hahei car park or by boat from the beach. The symmetry of the arch framing the open sea beyond makes it one of the most reproduced coastal photographs in New Zealand.
