Located six kilometres east of Sydney's central business district, Bondi Beach is a one-kilometre arc of sand framed by sandstone headlands and served by a reliable surf break on the south side. The Bondi to Coogee coastal walk begins at the beach's southern end, tracing clifftop paths above rock pools and smaller coves. The Campbell Parade promenade along the northern edge reflects the area's long history as a seaside recreation ground.
