Rising 833 metres above George Town, Penang Hill is the oldest hill station in Malaysia, its peak reached by a funicular railway dating to the early twentieth century. The summit offers a 360-degree panorama over the Penang Strait and the mainland coast of Kedah, particularly striking at dusk when city lights begin to emerge. A network of heritage trails and a small mosque from the colonial era add cultural depth.
