A small island separated from Nusa Penida by a narrow strait, Nusa Lembongan is ringed by a mix of mangroves, white-sand beaches, and surf breaks, with the most famous wave — Shipwrecks — drawing regular surfing visitors. Seaweed farming has been practiced here for decades and traditional farms still pattern the shallows around the island. The quieter pace of the island compared to mainland Bali, combined with snorkeling sites, cliff views, and the characteristic turquoise water of the Badung Strait, attracts steady day-trip and overnight traffic.
