Sidemen

A rural valley in the regency of Karangasem in eastern Bali, Sidemen is surrounded by terraced rice paddies with Mount Agung forming the backdrop to the north. The valley is known among travelers seeking a quieter alternative to the Ubud tourism corridor, and traditional crafts including songket weaving and endek cloth production remain active cottage industries in the villages. The rice terrace walks and river valley trails through the area offer some of Bali's most photogenic lowland agricultural scenery.
