A remote archipelago of around 60 islands in Tomini Bay off the coast of central Sulawesi, the Togean Islands are characterized by undisturbed coral reefs, jungle-covered hills, and diverse marine ecosystems including atolls, barrier reefs, and patch reefs within close proximity. The area hosts rare stingless jellyfish in inland marine lakes, similar to those of Palau, and the islands are home to communities of Bajau sea nomads. The islands' isolation keeps visitor numbers low and reef conditions largely pristine.
