A small island within Bunaken National Marine Park at the northern tip of Sulawesi, Bunaken is one of Indonesia's premier dive destinations, known for dramatic vertical walls that drop hundreds of meters from the reef rim into the deep Sulawesi Sea. The walls host turtles, sharks, barracuda, and dense coral gardens at shallow depths accessible by snorkel. The Bunaken-Manado Tua-Mantehage-Nain island group within the park covers 890 square kilometers of protected marine environment.
