Damnoen Saduak is the most recognized of Thailand's floating markets, set along a network of canals about 100 kilometres southwest of Bangkok in Ratchaburi Province. Vendors paddle wooden boats laden with tropical fruits, vegetables, and cooked food through narrow waterways lined with stilted shophouses. Early morning light filtering through canal-side vegetation creates distinctive photographic conditions. The market is most active between 7 and 11 in the morning.
