A small tidal island connected to the mainland by a bridge, located at the mouth of Katase River south of Kamakura, known for the hilltop Enoshima Shrine and a sea cave at its far end. The island's spine is a covered shopping street rising to garden terraces with views of Sagami Bay and, on clear days, Mount Fuji to the northwest. A lighthouse observation tower provides the island's highest vantage point over the surrounding coastal landscape.
