A high-altitude valley system in the Min Mountains containing a sequence of turquoise, emerald, and deep blue travertine lakes fed by mineral-rich streams. The vivid coloration results from calcium carbonate deposits coating the lake floors and submerged dead trees. Autumn, when deciduous forests surrounding the lakes turn scarlet and orange, produces the most celebrated photographic conditions in the park.
