Unawatuna is a bay on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, approximately five kilometres from Galle, with a sheltered curved beach partially protected by a coral reef that reduces swell and provides relatively calm conditions for swimming year-round. The rocky headland at the western end, topped by a Japanese Peace Pagoda and a small temple, provides an elevated photography position looking back across the bay. The beach is set within walking distance of the Galle Fort heritage area.
