Chikmagalur

Chikmagalur district in Karnataka's Malnad region is the historical birthplace of coffee cultivation in India, with estates sprawling across forested hills between the Western Ghats escarpment and the Baba Budan range. The Mullayanagiri peak at 1,930 metres is Karnataka's highest point and reachable by a paved road followed by a short trail with views across the hills. Hebbe Falls and Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary add wildlife and waterfall components to the region's appeal.
