Jog Falls in Shivamogga district is one of the highest plunge waterfalls in India, descending approximately 253 metres in four distinct streams — Raja, Rani, Rover, and Rocket — over a basalt cliff face. Flow volume peaks during and immediately after the monsoon between July and September, when all four cascades merge into a broad white curtain. A viewpoint platform on the opposite bank provides the classic vantage at mid-distance, while a steep trail descends to the base pool.
