Palolem is a curving beach in southernmost Goa, enclosed between two forested headlands that shelter the bay from prevailing swells and give it a sheltered, crescent shape. It is the most easily photographed of Goa's bays for its symmetry when shot from either headland at dusk. The calmer November-to-April sea conditions draw kayakers and snorkellers to the rocky outcrops at the bay's southern end.
