The largest wildlife reserve in Ghana, Mole encompasses savanna woodland and grassland in the northwest of the country, supporting populations of elephant, buffalo, warthog, and over 90 mammal species. The park's waterhole viewing platform at Mole Motel offers reliable elephant sightings particularly in the dry season when animals concentrate around permanent water. Walking safaris led by park rangers provide the opportunity to approach wildlife on foot in a setting where most other West African parks require vehicles.
