A forested highland park in northeastern Armenia covering approximately 240 square kilometers of oak, beech, and hornbeam forest in the Aghstev River valley. The town of Dilijan within the park is known for its nineteenth-century vernacular architecture and a restored artisan quarter. The park contains several medieval monasteries including Haghartsin and Goshavank, both set in wooded valleys and accessed by forest roads that make the combination of architecture and autumn foliage particularly effective for photography.
