Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption (San Francisco)

A dramatic modernist cathedral completed in 1971, its hyperbolic-paraboloid roof rising in four sweeping curves that meet in a cruciform skylight. Locals nicknamed it Saint Mary's for its sail-like silhouette.
