The Susten Pass reaches 2,224 metres on the road between Innertkirchen in the Bernese Oberland and Wassen in Uri, completed in 1945 as part of the National Alpine road network. The road passes through a short tunnel near the summit, with the Steinlimigletscher visible from the pass road. The western approach from Innertkirchen is particularly dramatic, winding through steep granite scenery below the Sustenhorn.
